Faith leaders, imams, and community organizers gathered in Fresh Meadows, New York, for the Imams and Leadership Luncheon, held as a pre-conference gathering ahead of the 51st Annual ICNA-MAS Convention, also known as ICNACON 2026.

The luncheon took place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Shirazi Kabab House, located at 183-10 Horace Harding Expressway. The event brought together religious and community leaders for fellowship, reflection, and meaningful discussion before the main convention.

ICNACON 2026 is expected to bring together Muslims from across the country, serving as a major national platform for faith, education, community service, youth engagement, and civic participation. The pre-conference luncheon created an opportunity for local and national leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen cooperation before the larger gathering.

The program featured Imam Jawad Ahmed, Director of Why Islam, as guest speaker. His remarks reflected the importance of outreach, education, and faith-based leadership in serving communities and promoting understanding.

Several community-based and national organizations were represented, including Why Islam, ICNA Relief, Helping Hand for Relief and Development, and the ICNA Council for Social Justice. Their participation highlighted the broad network of organizations working in humanitarian service, advocacy, social justice, and community development.

By bringing imams, faith leaders, and organizers together over a shared meal, the luncheon helped strengthen relationships and encourage collaboration. As a pre-conference event connected to ICNACON 2026, it underscored the continued role of faith-based leadership in guiding communities, building unity, and supporting collective service.
