Resilience Walk Inspires Families

A morning of movement, encouragement, and family connection filled Cunningham Park as Resilience USA Foundation, Inc. hosted the Resilience Youth Walk & Run 2026, a free community event focused on youth wellness, healthy living, and community resilience.

The event was held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cunningham Park, located at 196-10 Union Turnpike, Fresh Meadows, NY 11366. Families, children, youth participants, and community supporters gathered for a noncompetitive walk and run designed to promote wellness, empathy, healthy choices, and a drug-free lifestyle.

Unlike traditional races, the event emphasized participation over competition. Children and youth were encouraged to walk, run, rest, and enjoy the program at their own pace in a safe and positive environment. Organizers said every young participant was recognized as a winner for showing effort, courage, and commitment to health and community.

The program was hosted by Aftab Uddin Mannan, Distinguished Board Chair and Strategic Lead of Resilience USA Foundation, Inc. The event’s message centered on building stronger youth, stronger families, and stronger communities through active living and shared purpose.

Youth participants were recognized with certificates of participation, medals, and free T-shirts, offering encouragement and a lasting reminder of their achievement. The gathering also created space for parents, neighbors, and community members to connect while supporting children in a joyful and uplifting setting.

The event was supported by several community partners and sponsors, including Save The People USA, Jamaica Muslim Center (JMC), Hillside Islamic Center, Elhaam Academy, Al-Mamoor School, MUNA, MAA, Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society, and Guidance Residential. Their collaboration helped turn the event into a broader celebration of community wellness and youth empowerment.

By the end of the morning, the walk and run had become more than a fitness activity. It served as a reminder that investing in young people requires encouragement, positive spaces, and strong community partnerships. Through the Resilience Youth Walk & Run 2026, families left with memories of unity, wellness, and purpose.
