Elhaam Academy students recently took part in three meaningful educational events over three days, each designed to promote unity, compassion, leadership, and understanding through creativity and discussion.
The programs were held in collaboration with Save The People USA (STPUSA) and the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes (OPHC), reflecting a shared commitment to youth development and community harmony. Fatima Niass, Office Manager of STPUSA, was present at the events and participated with the students of Elhaam Academy, supporting the activities and engaging with young learners throughout the sessions.
One session featured handprint art, where students created colorful prints that represented more than an artistic activity. The handprints symbolized unity, compassion, and the future children are building together. Through the project, students were reminded that every individual can contribute to a stronger community.
Another session focused on the Junior Ambassador Program, engaging 7th grade students in conversations about leadership, responsibility, and global awareness. The program encouraged students to see themselves as future leaders capable of representing their communities with confidence and respect.
The third event, a Unity Painting Session, used art as a tool to teach peace, kindness, and understanding. With support from OPHC and Save The People USA, students explored how creativity can become a powerful way to express values and reject hate.
The impact of the three-day initiative extended beyond classroom learning. By combining art, civic education, and character development, Elhaam Academy gave students practical ways to understand empathy, cooperation, and respect for others.
Through its partnership with STPUSA and NYC OPHC, Elhaam Academy demonstrated how schools, community organizations, and city agencies can work together to prepare children not only academically, but also morally and socially.
