Free Dental Day Serves More Than 50 Queens Residents

More than 50 Queens residents received free dental care close to home as Save the People USA (STPUSA) brought a mobile dental clinic to Jamaica, Queens, expanding access to preventive oral-health services for local community members.
The Community Dental Day, held on September 8, 2026, was hosted by STPUSA in partnership with Healthfirst and Elhaam Academy. Through the Healthfirst Mobile Dental Clinic, participants received dental screenings, cleanings and preventive oral-health services during the neighborhood program.
Families, seniors, adults and other community members took advantage of the services. By bringing the mobile clinic directly into the Jamaica community, organizers sought to make basic dental care easier to reach, especially for residents who otherwise faced the added burden of traveling farther for preventive services.
Following the event, Save the People USA thanked Healthfirst and its mobile dental team for their work with residents. The organization also recognized Elhaam Academy, volunteers, staff and community partners for supporting the program and helping create a welcoming setting for participants.
The event reflected a broader community-service approach in which local organizations work with healthcare providers to bring essential services closer to residents. Dental screenings and cleanings formed the core of the day, giving more than 50 participants an opportunity to address preventive oral health within their own neighborhood.
“At Save the People, we believe strong communities are built when healthcare and essential services are accessible to everyone,” STPUSA said in its statement about the event.
For Save the People USA, the dental program added healthcare access to its community-focused work in Queens. The organization summarized the purpose of the initiative with the message, “Healthy Smiles. Healthy Families. Stronger Communities.” Through its partnership with Healthfirst and Elhaam Academy, the event turned that message into direct service for dozens of Jamaica residents.
