A summer afternoon at Cunningham Park in Queens became a gathering place for members of New York’s Bangladeshi community as the Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society held its annual summer BBQ, bringing families and friends together for food, conversation, and community fellowship.
The event served as a social gathering for Bangladeshis living across Queens, offering participants a chance to spend time together outside the formal setting of meetings and civic programs. Guests shared meals, joined conversations, and enjoyed the park setting during an event centered on connection and community life.
For Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society, the annual BBQ formed part of its broader effort to maintain close ties among Bangladeshi residents in the borough.
