Members of the Dhaka University Alumni Association of USA Inc. came together with families, friends, and community members for the organization’s annual picnic and reunion event at Belmont Lake State Park on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Held at the Birch Pavilion, 625 Belmont Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704, the gathering provided an opportunity for former students of the University of Dhaka and members of the broader Bengali community to reconnect, celebrate shared experiences, and strengthen community relationships.
The event continued a tradition of bringing together alumni and community members in a welcoming outdoor setting. Participants enjoyed time with friends and family while celebrating their connection to Dhaka University and their shared cultural background.
The Dhaka University Alumni Association of USA Inc. invited former students, families, and community members to participate in the daylong program, which began at 10:00 AM and continued until sunset. The event featured opportunities for social interaction, community engagement, and creating new memories among attendees.
A highlight of the gathering was a raffle program featuring prizes supported by community sponsors. The 1st Prize, a ticket sponsored by New York-Dhaka-New York, was supported by Monir Chowdhury, Attorney at Law. The Grand Prize of $1,500 cash was sponsored by Gazi Wahiduzzaman Liton, Dr. Gee Chee Pat, and Astoria Social Adult Day Care.
The event reflected the continued efforts of the alumni association to maintain connections among graduates and create opportunities for the Bengali community in the United States. Through programs such as the annual picnic and reunion, the organization provides a space where alumni, families, and friends gather around shared memories and traditions.
