Guinea’s UN Envoy Visits Elhaam Academy

James Anderson:

A classroom at Elhaam Academy became a window to the world as students welcomed His Excellency Mohamed Dabo, Permanent Representative of Guinea to the United Nations, for a thoughtful and inspiring Junior Ambassador Program session organized by Save The People USA (STPUSA).

The visit gave students a rare opportunity to speak directly with an international diplomat and learn how global leadership works beyond textbooks. During the session, Elhaam Academy’s Junior Ambassadors explored the meaning of diplomacy, public service, global citizenship, and the role of the United Nations in addressing challenges that affect people across borders.

Students asked questions about some of the world’s most pressing issues, including world hunger, education, peacebuilding, and international cooperation. Their questions reflected curiosity not only about global problems, but also about how young people can grow into leaders who serve others.

Ambassador Mohamed Dabo discussed the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and responsibility in international affairs. His presence helped students understand that leadership is not limited to titles or offices, but is rooted in service, empathy, and the willingness to work for the common good.

The program also highlighted Elhaam Academy’s commitment to giving students meaningful learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom. By connecting young learners with leaders from the global stage, the school encouraged students to think critically about their place in the world and the responsibilities that come with knowledge.

For STPUSA, the session reflected its continued work in youth development, civic education, and community empowerment. Through the Junior Ambassador Program, students were encouraged to see themselves as future voices for peace, understanding, and positive change.

The event left a strong impression on participants, turning a school session into a practical lesson in diplomacy and leadership. For the students of Elhaam Academy, the visit was a reminder that global citizenship begins with awareness, curiosity, and the courage to ask meaningful questions.
