At a time when language can often be the biggest barrier to opportunity, Save The People USA (STPUSA) is working to bridge that gap through its Free English Class – Spring 2026 program, recently held at its Hillside Avenue location in Queens, New York.
The program, led by instructor Hafiz Rahman, brought together immigrant students from diverse backgrounds, many of whom are just beginning their journey in the United States. Designed for beginner-level learners, the class focused on foundational English skills, including basic vocabulary, sentence formation, and everyday communication.
Inside the classroom, the atmosphere reflected more than just academic instruction—it was a space filled with determination and hope. Many of the students, including young learners, are navigating a new culture and environment, and the ability to communicate effectively is a crucial first step toward integration. Through structured lessons and patient guidance, Hafiz Rahman helped students build these essential skills step by step.
Organizers emphasized that the program goes beyond teaching language. It is also about fostering confidence and empowering individuals to pursue education, employment, and social connections in their new communities. For many participants, learning English represents a pathway to independence and a stronger sense of belonging.
The initiative highlights the broader role of community-based organizations like Save The People USA, which continue to address practical needs within immigrant communities. By offering accessible and free educational resources, the organization is helping to remove barriers that often limit opportunities for newcomers.
The impact of the program is already visible in the enthusiasm of the students, who are not only learning new words but also gaining the confidence to use them in real-life situations. Each lesson contributes to building a foundation that can support long-term success, both academically and professionally.
As the Spring 2026 session continues, the ESL class stands as a reminder that small, consistent efforts—like learning a new language—can lead to meaningful transformation. Through the dedication of instructors like Hafiz Rahman and the support of organizations like STPUSA, immigrant students in Queens are taking important steps toward building brighter futures in their new home.
