Donovan Richards was sworn in for his second four-year term as Queens Borough President during a ceremony at Queens College’s Goldstein Theatre in Flushing on Feb. 8.
Joined by officials including Letitia James, Chuck Schumer, and Melinda Katz, Richards reflected on reducing unemployment from 25% to 5.4%, securing billions in investments, and expanding affordable housing and education funding.
“Queens chooses not to comply, but to celebrate” its diversity, Richards said, pledging to defend immigrants and continue investments in jobs, schools and community services. Leaders praised his deep roots in Southeast Queens and commitment to unity during challenging times.
